Financial Assistance is given for graduate students pursuing their higher degree through coursework or through research. Learn more about this assistance, known as the Tuition Fee Loan.

Tuition Fee Loan

Who is eligible

Candidates enrolled in research programmes or the following full-time coursework programmes are eligible to apply for a Tuition Fee Loan of up to 90% of the research/tuition fee payable by Singapore citizens.

However, students holding scholarships are not eligible for the loan.

 

Quantum

The Tuition Fee Loan covers up to 90% of tuition fee payable by Singapore citizens. Here is a worked example based on AY 2006 tuition fees for coursework programmes:

Administration of loan

The University has appointed Development Bank of Singapore (DBS Bank) and Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC Bank) as agents to administer the Tuition Fee Loan Scheme.

How to apply
  • Download [PDF | 1.05MB] a copy of the Tuition Fee Loan (TFL) Application form.
  • You should submit the form directly to any of the above banks after you have matriculated at the University.
  • Tuition Fee Loan application for a new Academic Year must be submitted directly to the bank by the 1st day of that Academic Year.
  • For applications submitted after the deadline, the completed forms should be endorsed first at the Office of Finance, located on Level 3 of Student Services Centre. (Your guarantor need not be present)
  • AY2008-09 (Semester 1) -   For Local students: 1 May 2008 to 18 July 2008. For International students: 1 May 2008 to 31 July 2008
