Course Registration

š STARS

The Student Automated Registration System (STARS) is a system designed for you to register your courses.

š STARS Planner

The STARS Planner is a platform for you to map out your timetable.  The courses that you plan and save in the STARS Planner are not registered until you submit them to STARS successfully.

š Course Registration

Approved courses listed on your admission letter will be pre-registered for you, subject to vacancies available and no clashes in class and / or examination timetables. You may view successfully registered courses and your class timetable via STARS online.

Courses offered in NTU are highly popular and competitive, and it is not always possible to be able to register for courses you expressed interest in reading due to vacancy limitations, even though they are approved by the schools.

If you must read specific courses in NTU and it clashes with other approved courses, you must prioritise and adjust your timetable or drop existing approved courses to fit the desired course.

š Add / Drop Period

You will have the opportunity to add and drop approved courses after your arrival and within the add / drop period specified. If you do not wish to read an approved course, you MUST de-register it during the add / drop period. A student who is still registered for a course after the add / drop period, but did not subsequently sit for the examination, will be deemed to have read and failed the course. "F" will appear on his official transcript.

Kindly ensure that courses taken at NTU are approved by your home institution and deemed necessary for your academic progession (credit transfer).
