When You Apply

iXchange@NTU Application Process 

Now that you have completed your online application, do note the subsequent application procedures as follows:

i) Application Processing

  • Our Office of Academic Services (OAS) shall review your courses-of-reading selection
  • Courses shall be approved subject to pre-requisites and vacancies available
  • OAS shall liase directly with students on matters pertaining to approval /
    re-selection of courses via e-mail
  • With sufficient course approvals, an Admission Letter shall be generated which equates to approval for you to come to NTU on exchange

ii) NTU E-Acceptance Package

  • Nominated exchange students shall receive via e-mail, the
    E-Acceptance Package which includes:
    ~ Admission Letter
    ~ SOLAR Form (Form 16)
    ~ Student Pass Application Procedure
    ~ Contact Form
    ~ Hall of Residence Handout
    ~ Insurance
  • Nominated students may expect to receive the admission letter and
    e-acceptance package by end-Nov 2009
  • For enquiries on arrival dates, accomodation and visa application, please email to International Student Centre (isc@ntu.edu.sg) when you have received your E-Acceptance Package

iii) Course Registration

  • All approved course shall be reflected on the Admission Letter
  • Approved courses shall be pre-registered for you, however we are unable to confirm that ALL approved courses shall be successfully registered as there may be clashes in class &/or examination timetable
  • You will have the opportunity to add/drop approved courses after your arrival and within the add/drop period specified
  • You are strongly encouraged not to deviate from the list of approved courses. If you choose to add new course after your arrival in NTU, approval will be subject to vacancies and pre-requisites, and your course registration will be delayed 

iv) Accomodation

  • Due to limited on-campus accomodation, allocation of accomodation shall be subject to availability through random balloting system.
  • Upon acceptance as an exchange students (for study only), you may apply for on-campus housing through the ISC Exchange Web Portal prior to the stipulated closing date.
    (Login access to ISC Exchange Web Portal shall be advised in the
    E-Acceptance Package)
  • Should you be successful in securing on-campus accomodation, housing will be in one of our 16 Halls of Residences based on double occupancy, where only 2 Halls have air conditioned rooms. Students are allocated proportionately to the 16 Halls and request for transfer of halls will not be entertained.
  • For students unsuccessful in their application for on-campus housing, they shall be recommended off-campus accomodations at hostels located within short bus rides to NTU.

Note:
1) NTU does not guarantee exchange students that on-campus accomodation will be provided. Students must be prepared to live off-campus should their application for on-campus accomodation be unsuccessful.
2) 
Students coming on Research and Work Exchange shall be recommended off-campus accomodation in view of the varied project dates.

v) Other Important Dates 

  • Earliest Check-in Date: Friday, 08 January 2010 (Tentative)
  • Exchange Orientation: To be confirmed
  • Start of Term (AY2009-2010, Semester 2): Monday, 11 January 2010
