iXchange@NTU Application Procedure 

The online application for AY2010-2011, Semester 1 (Fall) is now open. Detailed information about our application, registration process, arrivals and contacts for nominated students can be found in our iXchange@NTU Information Sheet. We encourage all nominated students to read through the information sheet prior to submitting their online application. We hope these information would be useful in ensuring a smooth application process for you.

Application Deadline (Course Work)

Undergraduate
      Semester 1 (Fall): 30th March
      Semester 2 (Spring): 30th September

 š Postgraduate
        Semester 1 (Fall): 15th March 
        Semester 2 (Spring): 15th September

Note: For students coming on Research Project or Work Experience Programme, please submit your online application at least 04 months prior to the intended start of your chosen programme.


Application Procedure

Nominated students coming to NTU on Study, Research and Work Exchange shall refer to the following application criteria and procedures:

š Partner universities shall inform NTU by e-mail, the names of nominated students and period of exchange in
      accordance to the units of exchange agreed per academic year, before the submission of student's online application.

š Nominated students must be full-time students in one of NTU's bi-lateral partner institutions and have completed at
      least two semesters of study at home universitry, with proof of results.

š This exchange programme is open to all nationals except Singapore.

š Students who are pursuing a Master's degree at their home university but have yet to obtain any Bachelor's degree,
      shall be classified and apply as an undergraduate student.

š Nominated students shall then submit their online application here

* Important notes on Postgraduate application:
Students applying via the postgraduate link MUST show proof of their Baccalaureate (Bachelor) Degree. Students who are pursuing a master's degree at their home university but have yet to obtain any Bachelor's degree shall be classified as an undergraduate student during their exchange period at NTU.

i) Documents and Materials to upload during Application
To expedite the process, students should have on-hand the following ready for submission onto the application system:

  • List of ten (10) courses they would like to read
  • Latest official transcript (signed by Registrar and include University's seal) in English, reflecting all courses taken in PDF format
  • Coloured, passport size digital photo of student in JPEG format
  • Clear image of the passport information page in JPEG format
  • Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae in PDF format (applicable for students on Research and Work Exchange only)

      Please refer to the Subject of Reading Selection Guide which lists all courses available by schools and year of study.
      Note: As updated course information for AY2001-2011, Semester 1 shall only be available towards May 2010,
              kindly use Academic Year 2009, Semester 1 as a reference for the courses to be offered.

      Note: The above serves only as a guide to previously approved course equivalent for NTU students. Exchange
               students should seek course approval from their home institution to ensure eligible credit transfer.

b) Postgraduate Selection
Graduate Programmes

iii) Endorsement Form
Upon successful submission of application, students shall receive an acknowledgement e-mail and prompted to download an endorsement form to be endorsed by their home university. Kindly ensure the endorsement form is duly signed by both student and International Office / Study Abroad Office (preferably with University stamp) & return via e-mail to: ixchange@ntu.edu.sg

iv) Choice of Courses
All students need to submit ten (10) courses for approval. This is to ensure adequate number of approved courses prior to arrival in NTU

Exchange students are strongly advised not to deviate from the list of approved courses. If they do not have enough approved courses, or choose to apply for new course(s) to read after arrival in NTU, course approval shall be subject to vacancies available. It shall not be guaranteed that they will be offered the course(s) and their course registration will be delayed.

* Important notes on postgraduate courses:
Students who are pursuing a master's degree at their home university but have yet to obtain any Bachelor's degree shall be classified as an undergraduate student. Selection of postgraduate courses shall be open to students who have completed at least 8 study semesters (4 Academic Years). Students who have not completed 8 study semesters will be denied reading postgraduate courses.

v) Workload per Semester
Students may take a maximum of 20 AUs (approximately 4-5 courses) per semester, although ten (10) courses need to be put through for school's initial review. Approved courses may later be drop during the add/drop period.

vi) Others
Students are encouraged to wait for their E-Acceptance Package before making arrangements for visa, accomodation,   travel ..etc Students shall find all necessary information required in the E-Acceptance Package.
