Period of scholarship
Each scholarship is tenable only for the academic year in which it is awarded.
Value of the scholarship
$2,000 to $10,000 per annum.
Selection process
- The selection of candidates for scholarships will be done by a Selection Committee with the following members for scholarships awarded to students of a specified school:
- The Vice-Dean of the School concerned who shall be Chairman;
- Two persons elected by the School; and
- A person representing the donor of the scholarship
Other scholarships:
- Two Vice-Deans on a rotation basis from the engineering schools e.g. CBE, CE, CEE, EEE, MAE, MSE;
- Two Vice-Deans on a rotation basis from the non-engineering schools e.g. NBS, SBS, SCI, HSS, SPMS, SADM; and
- A person representing the donor of the scholarship.
- The Chairman of the Committee shall be on a rotation basis among the Vice-Deans of Schools.
- The Selection Committee shall award the scholarship(s). In making its selections, the Selection Committee shall consider the candidates’ academic records, their records of co-curricular activities and other criteria as specified by the donor of the scholarship.
Other notes
- The scholarship may be withdrawn at any time, if in the opinion of the Selection Committee, the progress or behaviour of the scholar has not been satisfactory.
- A scholarship withdrawn or lapsing during the academic year shall not be re-awarded for the remainder of the academic year.
- The scholar may not, without the approval of the Dean of Admissions, hold any other award concurrently. (Unless otherwise stated in Scholarships Terms and Conditions)
