Undergraduate Scholarship for Hong Kong Students 

The Singapore Government invites students from Hong Kong to apply for scholarships tenable at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
 

Who is eligible?

Citizens or Permanent Residents of Hong Kong (SAR) are eligible to apply for the scholarship who are sitting for the 2009 HKALE or who have sat for the 2008 Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level Examination.

 

Eligibility criteria

  • Outstanding academic results
  • Excellent Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) records
  • Strong leadership qualities

 

Eligible programmes

Any Science and Engineering undergraduate programmes except Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine.

 

Coverage

The scholarship covers the following:

  • Tuition fee directly payable by students (after Tuition Grant)
  • Other compulsory fees for the programme of study
  • Maintenance allowance of S$6,000 per annum
  • Return air passage at the beginning and end of the scholarship term
  • Settling-in allowance of S$200 (One-off)
  • Accommodation allowance pegged at the lowest double room rate for on-campus accommodation

Bond

Scholars, on completion of the programme, will have to serve a 6-year bond working for the sponsoring companies, their subsidiaries or any other Singapore registered organisations.

Application procedure

  • Submit your online application for admission to NTU
  • Attach a recent passport-sized photograph on the space provided in the application form. You may download the application form here.
  • Enclose the following supporting documents:
    • Birth certificate
    • Hong Kong Identity Card (photocopy of both sides)
    • Passport (if applicable)
    • All school/national examination results
    • Co-Curricular Activities Records/Certificates
    • Testimonials (if any)

 Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Other notes

  • Scholars must maintain a satisfactory SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) on a semestral basis for the scholarship to be renewed.
