Nanyang Scholarship 

The Nanyang Scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen pursuing undergraduate programmes in Nanyang Technological University.
 

Who is eligible?

Both Local and International students are qualified for this scholarship. However, if you have obtained another scholarship, then you are not eligible for the Nanyang Scholarship.

Eligibility criteria

Local Applicants - Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level / NUS High School Diploma / International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma from ACS (Independent) & ACS (International)

  • Outstanding academic results
  • Excellent Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) records
  • Strong leadership qualities

Local Applicants - Polytechnic Diploma

  • Outstanding Polytechnic Diploma results preferably Diploma with Merit
  • Excellent Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) records
  • Strong leadership qualities

International Applicants

  • Outstanding academic results
  • Excellent Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) records
  • Strong leadership qualities

Eligible programmes

The scholarship offered covers the minimum duration of all NTU full-time undergraduate programmes except for Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine and NTU-Georgia Tech Integrated Programmes which covers only for the first three years in NTU.

Coverage

The scholarship covers the minimum duration of the undergraduation studies on condition that the scholar maintains a standard of performance and conduct to the satisfactory of the University:

  • Unique Leadership Training Programme
  • Priority for Global Immersion Programme
  • Tuition fee directly payable by students (after Tuition Grant)
  • Living allowance of S$6,000 per annum
  • Book allowance of S$500 per annum
  • Computer allowance of S$1,500 (One-off)
  • Settling-in allowance of S$250 (One-off)

Bond

There is no bond attached to the Nanyang Scholarship apart from the 3-year bond applicable to all foreign students under the Tuition Grant Scheme.

Application procedure

Local Applicants

The scholarship application procedure will follow the application for admission procedure of the respective application categories.

In addition, you are required to submit a recent passport-size photo (digital image) and an appraisal.

The scholarship application form can be found at the link 'Application for Scholarship' at the end of your online application for admission. You are required to login with the application number assigned to you.

If you have already applied for undergraduate degree programme(s) or have reserved a degree programme in NTU, you can login here to access the scholarship application form.

International Applicants

  • Submit your online application for admission to NTU
  • Apply for the scholarship with your assigned application number
  • Upload a recent passport-size photo (digital image) 

Note:

Photo specifications will be stated at the end of the scholarship application form.

Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.

 

Other notes

  • Nanyang Scholar may not hold concurrent scholarships, bursaries or university loans (except for one time award or book prize).

  • The Nanyang Scholar is required to stay in the hall of residence in the first year of his course of study and take on the role of student ambassador to represent the University as and when called upon.

  • There is no bond attached to the Nanyang Scholarship apart from the 3-year bond applicable to all foreign students under the Tuition Grant Scheme.

  • The scholarship covers the minimum duration of the undergraduate studies on condition that scholars maintain a minimum CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 3.5 over 5. The academic performance is monitored on a semestral basis.

  • If the scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
