The University Engineering Scholarship is open to Polytechnic Diploma holders from Singapore to pursue full-time undergraduate programmes at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS).

- Outstanding Polytechnic Diploma results preferably Diploma with Merit in Engineering or Technology courses
- Excellent Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) records
- Strong leadership qualities

Coverage |
The scholarship covers the following:
- Tuition fee directly payable by students (after Tuition Grant)
- Living allowance of S$5,800 per annum
(Applicable to all new and existing UES scholars)
- Computer allowance of S$2,000 (one-off)
(Applicable to all new UES scholars from AY2009) |

Bond |
Scholars, on completion of the programme, will have to serve a 4-year bond working in the Engineering-related field in Singapore.
(Applicable to all new UES scholars from AY2009. UES scholars prior to AY2009 will continue to be subjected to the 6-year bond obligation, as stated in their existing UES agreement.) |

Other notes |
- The scholarship covers the minimum duration of the undergraduate studies on condition that scholars maintain a minimum CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 3.5 over 5. The academic performance is monitored on a semestral basis.
- The scholarships will be withdrawn at any time if the academic progress or conduct of the scholar is not satisfactory.
- Scholars who withdraw from the scholarship scheme voluntarily (due to leaving their University prematurely) will be asked to pay liquidated damages (ie. amount received by the scholars from the commencement of scholarships till its termination plus 10% compounded interest).
- Scholars whose scholarships are terminated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) because of unsatisfactory performance (due to ill health or inability to cope with the course) will generally not be required to pay liquidated damages. MOE will decide on liquidated damages payable by the scholar in such circumstances, if any, on a case by case basis.
- Applicant must not hold any other scholarships, bursaries and take up university loans concurrently (Except LKY-STEP Award).
