Who is considered a Singapore Applicant?

You are considered a Singapore Applicant if you are a Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident with either local or international qualification, or an International student with a local qualification.

Information on Teacher Preparation Programmes

Description of Criteria Your Application Category
You hold a Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level qualification. Category A
You hold a local Polytechnic Diploma from one of the five polytechnics in Singapore. Category B
You are a final year student from one of the five polytechnics in Singapore, applying with 5-semester results. Category B

* You should not apply under Category A and B, if in addition to the above criteria,

  • You have been a matriculated student at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Management University (SMU) previously.
  • You hold an international qualification.
You are a Mature Applicant with at least 4 years of work experience and 25 years of age as at 1 August of the admission year. Category A, Category B or Category E (depending on your qualification)
You are an NUS High School Diploma graduate. Category E

You are an IB Diploma graduate from any one of the Schools listed below.

  • Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), 
  • Anglo-Chinese School (International) ,
  • St Joseph’s Institution International,
  • Hwa Chong International School;

Or
 
You are a Singaporean or Permanent Resident with IB Diploma.

 Category E
You have a pre-university or tertiary qualification in addition to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level certificate or local polytechnic diploma. Category E
You have an international pre-university or tertiary qualification. Category E
You are a former student of NTU seeking re-admission. Category E
You are a current student of NTU seeking a change of course to the National Institute of Education (NIE) programmes. Category E
You are a current or former student of NUS or SMU seeking admission. Category E
You hold a relevant diploma from one of the local polytechnics in Singapore and you wish to apply for a part-time programme. Part-time
You are a final year student from one of the five polytechnics in Singapore and you wish to apply for a part-time programme. Part-time
You are a Full-Time Serviceman (NSF) or Returning National Serviceman with a place already reserved in NTU and you wish to submit a new application.

Category A, Category B or Category E (depending on your qualification)
