Fees 

It is important to have a good idea of the financial costs involved over the length of your undergraduate education in NTU. To get started, there are three types of fees that you should know:

Application fee

Application fee is payable when you submit your admission application.

  • For Category A, B, C & E applicants the fee is S$10.00. This fee can be paid by VISA, Mastercard, DBS/POSB ATM or at AXS Stations.
  • For Part-time applicants, the fee is S$70.00 if paid by cash or cheque* or S$65.00 if paid by VISA, Mastercard, DBS/POSB ATM or at AXS Stations.

Tuition fee for full-time programme

For existing students, the annual tuition fees is fixed at AY 2007-08 rate for the remaining duration of their degree programme.

For AY2008-09 freshmen, the annual full tuition fee/subsidised tuition fee and tuition grant for Academic Year (AY) 2008-09 are as shown in the table below. It will be fixed throughout the duration of the degree programme.

  • All amounts quoted are exclusive of GST.
  • For students paying subsidised fees, GST on the subsidised fees and tuition grant are subsidised by MOE.
  • For students paying non-subsidised fees, GST on the non-subsidised fees are to be borne by the student.

Notes on payment of fees

  1. Students who do not sign the tuition grant agreement or who are not eligible for tuition grant will have to pay non-subsidised tuition fee.
  2. Fees (tuition fee and compulsory miscellaneous fees) are payable by students on a semester basis regardless of whether they are on Industrial Attachment, Overseas Exchange Programme, etc or otherwise during the semester.
  3. Students who are completing one last subject in order to graduate, are also required to pay fees (tuition fee and compulsory miscellaneous fees) on a semester basis.
  4. Students who withdraw or apply for leave of absence from the University two or more weeks after the commencement of a semester are liable for the payment of fees (tuition fee and other compulsory fees) for the whole semester.
  5. National servicemen whose enrolment in the University is delayed by one or two years because they have to fulfil their NSF commitment, are allowed to enjoy a one-year or two-year lag in the payment of amount of subsidised tuition fee. For such students, the amount of subsidised tuition fee they have to pay will be shown in their electronic bills issued by the Office of Finance. The amount will depend on the year they were first offered a place in the University.  For example, if they were offered admission in AY 2006.  They pay the subsidised tuition fee applicable for AY 2006 when they are admitted to the University in AY 2008.
  6. Office of Finance sends the electronic bill (E-bill) to undergraduates via their NTU student email account at the beginning of each semester. Upon notification, students are required to log on using their Student Link account to view and print their E-bill for record/payment.

*The above fees are inclusive of the prevailing GST rate except for the Copyright Licence Fee which does not attract GST. Please note that the 'Other Fees' stated above may be subjected to review should there be an upward revision in the prevailing GST rate.

MOE Subsidies

Subsidies are offered to qualifying students only.

Rules on Payment of Fees:

  1. The University Council reserves the right to alter fees at any time.
  2. Fees must be paid after the first two weeks of each semester.
  3. A student whose fees are not paid by the end of the stipulated period may be suspended from attendance at classes until all fees, including the late fee of $10 are paid in full.
  4. A student who leaves the University two weeks or more after the commencement of a semester is liable for the payment of fees for the whole semester.
  5. The Ministry of Education, Singapore, does not grant Tuition Grant for part-time undergraduate programmes.
