Upon successful completion of your admission application, you need to send in the supporting documents by a specific date.
The exact list of supporting documents can be found under the Application Status Menu in the online application. Login now at the respective link below to access your Application Status Menu:
Applicants applying under Category E can check for the supporting document required at the relevant section below.
If there is no link under the Action/Status column of the item Relevant Documents, this means you are not required to submit any documents for verification at the moment.
If we require more documents from you, we will contact you via email or your contact number.

Supporting document checklist for Category A & Category B
- Document Submission Page and requested documents indicated in the page (you need not send the Document Submission Page if there is no document or you have loaded your documents online).
- Payment Slip and cheque/ bankdraft/ money or cashier's order (you need not send in the Payment Slip if you are paying via internet or DBS/POSB ATM).
- 2 Referee Reports (for mature applicants only).
- Non-Academic Achievements consideration - Applicants who have indicated to be considered under discretionary criteria will have to complete the online appraisal form.
- Nanyang Scholarship Application - Scholarship applicants must complete the online scholarship application form and submit the completed appraisal form duly to Office of Admission. Scholarship applicants may request their JC/CI/Polytechnic tutors or principals to complete the appraisal form. The link to download the appraisal form is under Item 8 of the online application form.
Supporting document checklist for Category E
You need to prepare certified photocopies of the following supporting documents. Do not send original documents. You may get your school or notary public to certify the documents
- NRIC for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents; Birth certificate or passport for international students
- Junior High School/Secondary School national examination results
- Senior High School/Junior College internal examination results, if you have not taken your Senior High school/Junior College national examination
- Senior High School/Junior College national examination results
- Junior high School/Secondary School and Senior High School/Junior College leaving certificates
- University academic transcripts (where applicable)
For Part-time applicants
You are required to send the completed Payment Slip together with the documents requested in the Document Submission Slip and cheque/ bank draft/ money order (if not paying online) to Office of Admissions & Financial Aid by 3 February 2009.
Candidates are required to submit the following five (5) submission items.
Part 1 – These are compulsory assignments to fulfil.
- A portfolio or demo reel of personal artwork, including projects developed in secondary education. The portfolio should demonstrate general artistic proficiency plus ability in the desired area of BFA expertise (i.e. animation, photography, design, etc)
- A short written composition in English of no more than 400 words explaining why you are uniquely qualified to enter a specific BFA programme.
Part 2 – Please submit three (3) pieces from an assigned set of four designs that will demonstrate your abilities in the areas of:
- Conceptual and Visual Problem Solving. Using visual elements and symbols, create a composition that visually describes a verbal metaphor.
- Design Ability. Using a set of defined elements - spatial, conceptual structural, and possible even auditory stimuli, design a 3D form or spatial environment that satisfies the stated design brief.
- Narrative and Storytelling - using a set of images write a story in a maximum of 3 paragraphs.
- Drawing and Visualization - create a drawing of a specific object, demonstrating your skill in handling pencil or pen on paper.
These assignments are to be completed in a specific material and size requirement. The specific assignments will be available on the NTU School of Art, Design & Media website.
All portfolio submissions must arrive in physical form on CD-ROM, DVD or in original or duplicated work. All work must be hand delivered, or sent by courier or by standard mail. No work will be accepted if sent by email attachment.
For Arts (Education) and/or Science (Education) applicants
If you have indicated Arts(Education) and/or Science(Education) as one of the choices you must complete the on-line Application for Teacher form.
Click the Application for Teacher button at the bottom of the Document Submission/ Payment Menu in the online application to access the on-line form.
Important Notes
- Final Year Polytechnic students will submit the final semester results at a later date upon receipt of the results.
- All documents submitted to NTU become our property; you must not submit Original copies of any documents.
- You must submit the required documents in order to process the application completely. It is your responsibility to submit all documents in time to meet our deadline. Please note that any missing document may delay your application processing.
- Please indicate your application number on the top left hand corner of the envelope when submitting your supporting document.
