General Requirements
You are a Polytechnic Diploma Holder or a Final Year Student from one of the five local polytechnics in Singapore. If you are a graduating student at one of the local polytechnics, you may apply with your cumulative first 5 semesters results. Your application will be evaluated based on your five semesters results. However, you are still required to submit your final semester results as a proof that you have graduated from the diploma course.

You should have a relevant diploma from one of the five local polytechnics in Singapore (see List of Acceptable Diplomas below):

  • Nanyang Polytechnic
  • Ngee Ann Polytechnic
  • Republic Polytechnic
  • Singapore Polytechnic
  • Temasek Polytechnic

In addition to fulfilling the general admission requirements, for application to part-time Computer Science programme, a minimum of 1 year working experience will be required for consideration.    

Additional admission and MOE tuition fees subsidy eligibility requirements for Singapore Citizen (SC) and Permanent Resident (PR) .

In addition to the above general requirements, with effect from 1 January 2014, all Singapore citizen or Permanent resident applicants who have not previously received government subsidies for their first undergraduate degree programme must meet all subsidy eligibility criteria in order to be considered for admission to part-time undergraduate programmes.  

Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident applicants who have not previously received government subsidies for their first undergraduate degree programme can only be admitted if they:  

  1. Are at least 21 years of age^ as at 31 July of the admission year; and 

  2. Have 2 years of full-time working experience^, or
    currently employed on a full-time basis, except regular servicemen*, or
    males have or will be fully discharged from their full-time NS liability before 11 Aug 2020 (school term start date).
    * regular servicemen must have completed at least 2 years of service before the school term start date.

^ Applicants may be granted exemptions from the age and work experience eligibility criteria if:

  • Sponsored by the company for the study of the part-time undergraduate degree programme offered;  or
  • Currently employed in a job role/sector related to the part-time undergraduate degree programme offered.


Important points to take note:       

  • Full time NSmen (NSF) will not be eligible for disruption from NS for the purpose of pursuing part-time undergraduate education. 
  • NSF with ORD date after the school term start date will not be eligible for admission as well as subsidy.
  • For self-employed individual (e.g. Freelancer, Sole Proprietor), you may be required to submit additional supporting document for further evaluation.
  •  Part-time employment^ will not be considered as full-time work experience.
      ^A part-time employee is one who works for less than 35 hours a week, under contract of service
       with an employer.

Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident pursuing their second or subsequent degree and international students who do not meet the age and/or work requirement may continue to be considered for admission without also satisfying the subsidy eligibility criteria.
Only Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents are eligible to apply for the MOE Tuition Fee Subsidy.

Computation of University Score

Applicants will be assessed based on their polytechnic results. In addition, the university may consider applicants who have relevant working experience.

Step 1: Submit application form

Application to NTU is done online by submitting an electronic application form during the application period. You are required to submit only one (1) electronic application form.
There is no hard-copy application form.
Please read the guide before you start your application. Preview your completed application form and print or save a copy for your reference before you click the Submit button.

Your online application has been submitted successfully if
  1. an Application Status Menu showing your application number and a summary of application items required to be completed by you is generated and
  2. an acknowledgment of your application is forwarded to your email address(es) you have provided in the online application form. Please provide a valid email address as your application outcome will be notified through email.

Take note of the unique application number assigned to you (starting with PPXXXXX) and keep the acknowledgement message as proof of application.

Please note that your application cannot be processed until the application fee and required supporting documents are received within the stipulated deadlines.

Step 2: Pay application fee                                                                                  

Application Fee is S$65.00 if you are paying online with a credit card or DBS/POSB Automated Teller Machine (ATM), and S$70.00 if you are paying by cashier's order or bank draft.

Payment can be made using one of the following methods:

  • Internet Payment by VISA or MasterCard at the Application Status Menu
  • Via DBS/POSB Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Singapore
  • Via cashier's order/bank draft made payable to 'Nanyang Technological University' and mailed to Office of Admissions

Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents                                                               

The documents required for submission (if applicable) can be found in the Checklist after application.
If there is/are no online link(s) provided for you to upload the relevant documents, this means you are not required to submit any documents for verifications at the moment. If we require more information from you, we will contact you via email or your contact number.

International Students who are not a citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore must ensure that they possess a valid immigration pass issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority or Ministry of Manpower to study and reside in Singapore throughout the entire period of their studies. For successful applicants, they must not be concurrently holding a full-time student pass from other Universities or institutions while studying part-time at NTU.

You are strongly encouraged to make use of the uploading feature as it saves cost and speeds up the processing of your application.

To upload your documents (if applicable) to the Checklist, please take note of the following:

  • Ensure that the documents are scanned in full colour.
  • Ensure that the scanned files are in Winword,  JPEG or PDF format.
  • Save all pages of the same document to one file and then upload the file to the same location as one item. Each upload should not exceed 5 MB.
  • Ensure that you have selected the right file to the correct location for uploading as no re-uploading is allowed and there will be no option for viewing the uploaded file after uploading.
  • Submission of documents must be completed by the stipulated deadlines. Only complete applications will be processed.
  • You will not need to mail your documents after uploading them. Submission through email is not acceptable.
  • If you encounter any issues uploading your file (s) while using the Internet Explorer browser, you may wish to use other browsers like Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari.

Step 4: Update/Track Progress of Application

By accessing or re-login to the Application Status Menu (via Check Status link) you can

  1. Pay your application fee online via VISA/Master Card.
  2. Access the Checklist for submission of supporting documents (where applicable).
  3. View and Check your application fee payment status and supporting documents submission status.
  4. Update or Submit (if you have not applied earlier) the application for MOE Tuition Fee Subsidy if you are Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident before the closing date.
